Community Footprinting
Origin Energy is liasing with The Global Footprint Network (opens in a new window) to provide Ecological Footprinting services for communities.
Ecological Footprints are a well respected method of accounting for all the land which we use as part of our total life activities. As a planet we use over 3 times the available land area of the Earth and each one of us contributes to this exploitation in the many choices we make to secure our wealth. The Footprint analysis helps us to see how much equivalent land we use as individuals and as communities and suggests strategies for reducing our impact on the Earth's resources.
Once an Ecological Footprint is calculated it can be easily be converted into a Carbon Footprint to try to reduce our carbon output.
