Origin Energy have the in-house capabilities to chose a suitable location for your own community wind turbines. We take care of all aspects of site analysis, construction and management of the turbines throughout their life. We sell the energy through the National Grid and return net profits to the community. We help the community to administer and manage the revenues for their benefit. We hope in this way to re-connect communities with their local environment. We proceed in stages.
We first carry-out quick mapping and wind analysis to suggest a number of turbines and optimum position that would suit the size of your community. We can, at this stage, provide an estimate of the size of revenue a community might expect on completion of the turbines.
Origin Energy then carry-out a fuller investigation and site design to enable a planning application to be made. This investigation will include:
- An environmental study
- A layout of turbines designed to suit the local landscape
- A grid connection study
- A construction study
- An energy study
- A financial study
- A community statement
Origin Energy will find finance for construction of the turbines, oversee their construction and provide management during their operation.
In this way, communities can own and benefit from renewable energy creation. Origin Energy will take care of all aspects on behalf of a community.
